Why I am Against Pluto

In the two articles, “When is A Planet Not a Planet” by Daniel Santos and “What Is A Planet” by NASA it states In the two article, “When is A Planet Not a Planet” by Daniel Santos and “What Is A Planet” by NASA it states Pluto is now a dwarf planet by the IAU’s new definition. Pluto is now a dwarf planet by the IAU’s new definition. However, some people believe that Pluto should stay a planet is creating controversy. I strongly believe that the IAU was right about making Pluto a dwarf planet because it is a Kuiper Belt object and it is different than the other planets.

In the two articles, “When is A Planet Not a Planet” by Daniel Santos and “What Is A Planet” by NASA it states Pluto is now a dwarf planet by the IAU’s new definition. One reason is that Pluto is a Kuiper Belt object. This is because Pluto is more like one of those objects than a planet. Also, Pluto has 8 other Kuiper Belt objects in between it and Neptune. Lastly, there are some Kuiper Belt objects bigger than Pluto its self. That is one reason why the classification by the IAU was correct.

In the two articles, “When is A Planet Not a Planet” by Daniel Santos and “What Is A Planet” by NASA it states Pluto is now a dwarf planet by the IAU’s new definition. Another reason is that Pluto is different thenĀ  the other 8 planets. One example is, that Pluto has a strange orbit because it intersects with Neptune’s orbit. Pluto is also made out of rock and ice. That is another reason why they made the right choice.

It is still creating controversy because many people believe that the IAU made the wrong choice. That is why I believe that the IAU made the right choice.
